Laura Priale Chirinos formed herself as a dancer growing up. What began as a body movement unfolded into Laura working as a Film Director, Director of Photography and Yoga teacher.
Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Laura moved to New York to pursue her professional studies in Film Production (BFA ‘26) at Pratt Institute. The core of her practice relies in community. Laura nurtures her creativity by holding closely the power of collaboration and human interaction. Film is the medium through which Laura explores the fundamental loop of life and the lively experience of being embodied and present.
Laura’s personal projects focus on interlacing reality with a fantastical approach through manufacturing imaginary worlds and incorporating the uncanny into her films. Her narrative prductions center around her own Latino culture while her background as a dancer influence her approach as a visual storyteller.
